PS Core Network Engineer

About the Role:

PS Core Engineer will work in a team responsible for daily management, operation and troubleshooting of mobile data core platforms. We are looking for a structured person with technical and practical attitude. You should be analytical with a solid technical base. You are able to focus on the outcome and make things happen.

Responsibilities:-

• Daily management and operation of mobile data core platforms within responsibility area

• Typical platforms to be handled are SGSN, GGSN, MME (Mobility Management Entity), EPG (Evolved Packet Gateway), PCRF, IPv4 NAT solution, DNS and Radius server, GRX/IPX border router and firewall.

• Securing and restoring quality in maintained platforms, networks and solutions acting as 2nd and 3rd line technical support.

• Be able to participate in scheduled 24x7 on-call duty

• Actively and strongly participating in solving network issues and service disturbances

• Working with various subject matter experts to resolve escalated issues within the time constraints of the defined service level agreements

• Updating 1st line regularly on ongoing trouble tickets and providing full report of issues

• Escalating tickets to supplier after severity analysis

• Constructing (design) and implementing of configuration data into maintained platforms

• Performing SW upgrades and implementation of updates

• Performing platform HW maintenance on site

• Updating of necessary documentation

• Continue to learn and update internal knowledge base of new support solutions

• Suggesting standards, instructions, methods and procedures concerning network operation

Qualifications and Experience:-

• MSC or BSC degree in Technical Science or/and the same level of expertise achieved through work experience or certifications

• 3+ years of experience in network operations, management and engineering.

• Very good knowledge of mobile data core architecture and elements as well as IP

networking

• Good knowledge of signaling in mobile NW, SS7 and Sigtran; BGP and OSPF routing

• CISCO certification desired

• Knowledge of mobile network technology and network based applications

• Experience in mobile data roaming implementation and operation is a plus

• Previous experience of Unix server and/or database administration is a plus

• Previous experience of network firewall administration is a plus
