Job Description

Role Objective

The Telecom Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of telecom infrastructure and service delivery projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgetary guidelines. The role demands strong leadership, technical understanding of telecom systems, and stakeholder management skills to drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones in alignment with client requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Define project scope, deliverables, dependencies, and risks.
  • Manage rollout activities including survey, material logistics, installation, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Track project progress using project management tools and ensure adherence to deadlines.

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a single point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal teams for project-related matters.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Handle escalations, provide solutions, and maintain customer satisfaction.

3. Team & Vendor Coordination

  • Lead and mentor project teams, assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, NOC, procurement, finance).
  • Manage subcontractors and vendor deliverables to ensure compliance with timelines and SLAs.

4. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards, quality benchmarks, and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines.
  • Verify compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including HOTO (handover/takeover), CR (change requests), acceptance reports, and billing-related documentation.

5. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track key project performance indicators (KPI/SLAs).
  • Provide timely MIS, dashboards, and project status reports to management and clients.
  • Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.

6. Financial & Commercials

  • Monitor project budgets and ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Support finance and commercial teams with project billing, invoicing, and closure documentation.
  • Highlight risks related to penalties, delays, or cost escalations.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of telecom technologies: Optical Fiber Networks ,IP/MPLS, and Transmission Network
  • Hands-on experience with telecom project lifecycles: survey, planning, rollout, integration, acceptance, and handover.
  • Proficiency in project management tools
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective stakeholder management and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with government/PSU telecom projects (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management mindset.
