Job Description

Role Overview: As a Project Manager or Scrum Master - Grade 11 at NTT DATA in Pune, Maharashtra, India, you will be responsible for leading and scaling engineering/quality engineering teams to deliver digital solutions. Your role will involve defining and driving engineering practices, test automation, quality platforms, and operational excellence across digital transformation programs. Key Responsibilities: - Provide strategic leadership for the digital engineering organization by setting direction, roadmap, metrics, and aligning with business stakeholders. - Manage and grow teams of engineering/quality professionals through hiring, mentoring, setting goals, and coaching technical leads. - Drive quality engineering practices such as automation, continuous integration/delivery, and test frameworks to enforce engineering excellence. - Oversee large-scale digital engineering programs to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions on time, within budget, meeting SLAs and KPIs. - Collaborate with architecture, product, operations, DevOps, and business teams to integrate digital engineering into the overall lifecycle. - Establish and optimize metrics, dashboards, and KPIs (defect density, automation coverage, velocity, production incidents) to drive continuous improvement. - Manage budget, resource planning, vendor/partner relationships, and technical risk mitigation. - Foster a culture of innovation, engineering maturity, an automation-first mindset, and operational excellence. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Typically 10-15+ years of experience in software engineering/digital engineering roles, with some in leadership/management capacity. - Strong track record of leading large teams in engineering, test/quality, automation, agile/digital delivery environments. - Deep understanding of modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automation frameworks, agile/DevOps, cloud-native, and test strategies. - Experience managing budgets, metrics, KPIs, vendor/outsourcing relationships. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication with senior business/technical leaders, with the ability to bridge business and engineering. - Preferably experience in a services environment (IT services/consulting) or large digital transformation engagements.
