Job Role

Lead, plan, and execute a Greenfield chemical manufacturing project from documentation to commissioning. Oversee engineering, statutory approvals, vendor management, team development, and project coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery under the guidance of the Project Head.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Documentation (Ahmedabad Phase)

  • Drive feasibility studies, budgeting, DPR preparation, and master layout planning.
  • Review engineering drawings (civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical) with design agencies.
  • Liaise with statutory bodies for approvals (GPCB, PESO, CPCB, DISH, etc.).
  • Prepare detailed project execution plans, including resource, cost, and risk strategies.

2. Execution, Erection & Commissioning (Dahej Site Phase)

  • Oversee civil works, mechanical erection, electrical installation, and utilities setup.
  • Supervise equipment erection and commissioning as per technical specifications.
  • Monitor contractor performance, conduct site reviews, and ensure timeline adherence.
  • Coordinate with EPC vendors, consultants, and agencies to resolve project issues.

3. Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and safety.
  • Define team roles, hire required manpower, and ensure responsibility clarity.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support succession planning for future plant operations.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between site teams, head office, and external stakeholders.

4. Project Management & Compliance

  • Implement project management tools (PMP practices, milestone planning, resource scheduling).
  • Maintain strong project control through MIS, DPRs, and budget monitoring.
  • Ensure legal, quality, and EHS compliance throughout construction and commissioning phases.
  • Coordinate with auditors, inspection agencies, and authorities for documentation and inspections.

Education & Experience

Qualification:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering (mandatory)

Experience:

  • 10 - 15 years in project management/execution, with minimum 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in Chemical, Fertilizer, Petrochemical, Agrochemical, or Process Plants.
  • End-to-end execution of Greenfield/Brownfield projects (concept to commissioning).
  • Hands-on exposure to multidisciplinary project teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation).
