Project Manager-Crusher Plant

Role & responsibilities

Position Overview:

• The Project Manager Crusher Plant is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all activities related to crushing operations, plant setup, project execution, production efficiency, safety compliance, and timely completion of assigned projects. This role ensures smooth coordination between site teams, vendors, contractors, and management to achieve production targets and maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Project Planning & Execution

• Develop detailed project plans for new crusher plant installations, upgrades, and expansions.
• Prepare BOQ, project timelines, resource allocation, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, and procurement teams for timely project execution.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and handover of crushing and screening equipment.

Plant Operations Management

• Monitor daily production, plant performance, and equipment utilization.
• Ensure targeted output (TPH) and quality of aggregates as per specifications.
• Optimize crushing processes to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules in coordination with maintenance teams.

Team Leadership

• Supervise site engineers, operators, technicians, and contractors.
• Ensure adequate workforce planning, training, and performance monitoring.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational discipline.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost efficiency.
• Evaluate vendor quotations, negotiate contracts, and monitor material procurement.
• Identify areas for cost reduction without compromising safety or quality.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

• Implement and enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards across the site.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, pollution control norms, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and toolbox meetings.
• Ensure quality control of aggregates (gradation, shape, size, and strength).

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaison with equipment manufacturers, contractors, local authorities, and management.
• Resolve site issues, equipment failures, supply chain delays, and workforce concerns.
• Maintain regular communication and reporting to senior management.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports on production, fuel consumption, downtime, and manpower deployment.
• Maintain logs for plant breakdowns, repairs, and spare parts requirements.
• Document project milestones, commissioning reports, and compliance documents.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of crushing & screening equipment (Jaw Crusher, Cone Crusher, VSI, HSI, Screens).
• Expertise in project planning, site management, and large-scale plant setup.
• Ability to analyze production data, KPIs, and optimize plant operations.
• Proficiency in safety standards and statutory compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Problem-solving attitude with ability to work under pressure.

• Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Mining, Civil, or related field.
• 8–15+ years of experience in crusher plant operations, erection, commissioning, or project execution.
• Hands-on experience with crushing plant management and project handling is preferred.

• Achievement of production targets (TPH/tonnage).
• Reduction in plant downtime and maintenance costs.
• On-time completion of project milestones.
• Safety compliance record (Zero LTI/LTA).
• Cost control and budget adherence.
