Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Production & Manufacturing Management

Oversee end-to-end production operations (module line, structure line, roll forming, fabrication, etc.).

Ensure daily/weekly/monthly production targets are met.

Develop and implement production planning & scheduling for smooth workflow.

Monitor machine performance, utilization, and OEE.

Coordinate with maintenance team to minimize downtime.

2. Quality Assurance & Process Control

Ensure all products meet required quality standards.

Implement and monitor quality control systems across stages.

Conduct root cause analysis for defects and drive continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S, Lean).

Work closely with QA/QC teams to reduce rejection and rework.

3. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

Coordinate with procurement for timely raw material availability (steel, coils, solar components, consumables).

Monitor inventory levels, reduce excess/slow-moving stock.

Improve supply chain efficiency and vendor coordination.

Maintain accuracy of inbound & outbound materials.

4. Workforce Management

Manage shift schedules, manpower planning, and shop-floor supervision.

Ensure safety, discipline, and productivity among workers.

Conduct training for operators & technicians on new processes/equipment.

Resolve manpower-related issues promptly.

5. Process Improvement & Cost Control

Identify bottlenecks and implement process optimization.

Reduce manufacturing cost through waste reduction, efficient resource usage, and cycle-time improvements.

Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Monitor KPIs like production cost, rejection rate, machine efficiency, and on-time delivery.

6. Maintenance Coordination

Work with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Ensure machines are in safe and efficient working condition.

Maintain maintenance logs and ensure zero major downtime.

7. Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with factory rules, environmental norms, safety standards.

Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox meetings.

Implement strict safety SOPs for shop floor and equipment.

8. Cross-Department Coordination

Coordinate with Sales, Purchase, Quality, HR, and Logistics for smooth operations.

Act as a bridge between management and production team.

Ensure on-time dispatch and customer order fulfillment.

9. Reporting & Documentation

Maintain daily/weekly production reports.

Track KPIs and share MIS reports with management.

Document SOPs, work instructions, quality guidelines.

10. Strategic Planning

Participate in capacity planning and machinery upgrade discussions.

Support management in implementing new technology and automation.

Forecast production capability and plan for future requirements.
