Quantification & Measurement

• Take off quantities from architectural/shop drawings specific to wood works.
• Prepare and update

  Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

  for joinery items.
• Verify dimensions, materials, and finishes per specifications.

Cost Estimation & Budgeting

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for custom joinery works (fixed furniture, decorative wood paneling, etc.).
• Provide

  cost comparisons

  for different materials (e.g., MDF vs. plywood vs. hardwood).
• Work with design teams to provide

  value engineering

  solutions without compromising aesthetics.

Procurement Support

• Source and evaluate vendors/suppliers for wood materials and hardware (hinges, handles, veneers, laminates, etc.).
• Assist in

  preparing tender packages

  and evaluating subcontractor bids.
• Negotiate prices and commercial terms with joinery subcontractors.

Contract & Subcontract Management

• Prepare

  scope of works

  and subcontract agreements for joinery/woodwork packages.
• Monitor compliance with contract terms and delivery schedules.
• Handle claims and variations with subcontractors.

Cost Control & Reporting

• Track actual vs. estimated costs for woodwork items.
• Prepare

  interim valuations

  and certify subcontractor payments.
• Generate cost reports for the woodwork packages and flag any overruns.

Variation & Change Order Management

• Assess and price

  variation orders

  related to woodworks.
• Work with design and client teams to approve and track changes.
• Keep updated logs of variation claims and status.

Quality & Specification Compliance

• Coordinate with production/QC teams to ensure the materials and workmanship meet project specifications.
• Visit joinery workshops to verify quality and progress before dispatch.

Final Accounts & Project Close-out

• Prepare and agree on

  final accounts

  for joinery works.
• Ensure documentation (e.g., warranties, material certifications, shop drawings) is submitted
