The Project Engineer (Civil) cum Estimation Engineer will support the engineering consulting team in planning, supervising, and delivering civil engineering projects related to irrigation, drainage, and urban infrastructure. The role combines project execution responsibilities with preparation of cost estimates, BOQs, and technical proposals for consultancy projects.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Project Engineering & Execution

• Assist in planning, monitoring, and supervising civil engineering works, ensuring alignment with project specifications and standards.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress, quality, and compliance with design documents.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the smooth execution of infrastructure projects.
• Support the preparation and review of technical drawings, design reports, and construction documents.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and ensuring the implementation of best engineering practices.

B. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for irrigation, drainage, and urban infrastructure projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine material, manpower, and equipment requirements.
• Support preparation of proposals, tender submissions, and engineering cost plans for consulting projects.
• Conduct market rate analysis and liaise with suppliers/subcontractors for pricing information.
• Maintain databases of material costs, productivity rates, and project pricing references.

C. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare progress reports, site reports, and engineering documentation for internal and client submissions.
• Maintain records of project correspondences, drawings, and estimation files.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with company standards and project requirements.

D. Compliance & Quality Support

• Ensure project activities comply with national/international codes and engineering best practices.
• Support QA/QC teams in verifying construction quality and material compliance.
• Assist in ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards across project sites.

3. Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering project execution, with specific exposure to irrigation, drainage systems, or urban infrastructure.
• Experience in both project engineering and cost estimation within an engineering consultancy environment is preferred.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of civil engineering design, drawings, and construction processes.
• Proficiency in quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, and engineering estimation.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and site coordination skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project/Primavera, and estimation software (advantage).
• Effective communication and reporting abilities.
