Environment Research Laboratory (ERL):

Designation: Project Specific Research Engineer – II (Air Quality-02)-(ARAI Contract)-ERL

Location: Mumbai/ Pune

M.E./M. Tech. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science and Technology, Atmospheric Sciences or Equivalent

Work Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in the city-level/regional emission inventory development and air quality management field.

• Co-ordinate for primary data collection surveys and activities in the field
• Liasoning with different government departments and external agencies for data collection on demography, industries, meteorology, and air pollution, etc.
• Analyzing the data collected from field surveys using tools such as excel, python, R, QGIS, etc.
• Develop emissions inventory estimates for point, area, line, natural sources and other applicable pollutant sources
• GIS digitization of data collected from primary surveys and interpretation of emission inventory results and findings
• Develop scientific reports
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

• Knowledge of CPCB, ARAI, AP-42, CARB, and/or other emissions inventory factors.
• Knowledge of air quality regulations
• Knowledge of principles and practices of GIS, including data compilation and conversion, and database management systems
• Knowledge of mathematical principles including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
• Skill in developing, manipulating, and analyzing GIS data in a variety of data formats and projections
• Skill in interpreting and applying policies and procedures governing environmental control
• Skill in analyzing and evaluating technical engineering data and complex computer data
• Ability to maintain accurate and interrelated data records and identify and reconcile errors
• Ability to follow and effectively communicate verbal and written instructions.
