Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for :
- Lead the design, engineering, and commissioning of ABB DCS systems, including Power & Water, Symphony Plus, and Infi90 platforms (BRC410 & SD series).
- Manage end-to-end project executionfrom site survey to final commissioningensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
- Conduct site assessments and prepare tailored technical solutions aligned with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee application design and implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Design and implement HMI interfaces for effective system control and visualization.
- Coordinate and execute Integrated System Testing (FAT) to validate system performance and reliability.
- Lead startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities at client sites, ensuring smooth handover and operational readiness.
Qualifications for the role
- Experience & Technical Expertise: 6-12 years of hands-on experience with ABB DCS systemsSymphony Plus Harmony and Infi90including hardware design, testing, and commissioning.
- Domain Knowledge: Proven competency in Power & Water projects such as hydro, geothermal, steam turbine, and water treatment systems.
- System & Tool Proficiency: Strong understanding of control system architecture, ABB Harmony legacy systems, and proficiency in Application and Graphic Engineering tools within Symphony Plus DCS.
- Instrumentation & Interface Skills: Solid knowledge of field instrumentation (sensors, transducers, drives) and communication protocols like Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC 61850, and IEC 104.
- IT & Mobility: Familiarity with network engineering, Windows OS (7/XP/Server 2003/2008), MS Office applications, and willingness to travel internationally (over 50% travel expected).
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree (BE/BTech) in Control & Instrumentation Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
