Job Description

SHG & Micro-Entrepreneurship will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring Self-Help Group (SHG)based livelihood and micro-enterprise initiatives. The role focuses on women empowerment, financial inclusion, skill development, and sustainable income generation in rural or urban low-income communities.

Role and Responsibilities

Mobilize community members and form Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
Facilitate SHG capacity building on savings, credit, bookkeeping, and governance
Support SHGs and individuals in identifying viable micro-enterprise opportunities
Coordinate entrepreneurship training, skill development, and exposure visits
Assist beneficiaries in accessing credit, bank linkages, and government schemes
Monitor enterprise performance and provide hand-holding support
Maintain project records, MIS data, and progress reports
Liaise with banks, NGOs, government departments, and local institutions
Conduct field visits to ensure effective implementation
Promote women empowerment, leadership, and social inclusion

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Economics, Management, or related field
Masters degree preferred (MSW / Rural Management / Development Studies)

Experience

4 years of experience in SHG promotion, livelihoods, or micro-enterprise projects
Experience working with NGOs, CSR projects, or government schemes is an advantage

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of SHG models and micro-finance
Knowledge of livelihood promotion and entrepreneurship development
Community mobilization and facilitation skills
Basic financial literacy and bookkeeping knowledge
Good communication and report-writing skills
Ability to work independently in field conditions
Proficiency in MS Office / MIS tools
