Production Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fabrication Shop Supervisor to oversee our daily fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in metal fabrication, welding, and quality control. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled fabricators and welders, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to our exacting quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Production & Operations Manage and prioritize daily workflow, ensuring efficient use of resources and equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to plan and execute fabrication projects. Supervise and train a team of fabricators and welders, providing guidance, feedback, and technical support. Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines. Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to maintain a smooth workflow. Quality & Safety: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company quality standards, project specifications, and industry codes (e.g., IS, ASME). Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and finished products to ensure high-quality craftsmanship. Enforce and promote a safe working environment, adhering to all company and OSHA safety regulations. Lead safety meetings and training sessions to maintain a culture of safety awareness. Management & Administration Coordinate with the project management team to align on project timelines and material needs. Maintain accurate records of production, labor hours, and material usage. Manage inventory of materials and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent delays. Conduct performance reviews, address employee issues, and foster a positive team environment. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical school certification in welding, fabrication, or a related field is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role. Technical Skills: Proficient in various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick). Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Strong knowledge of fabrication equipment, including saws, shears, presses, and brake presses. Familiarity with quality control procedures and inspection tools. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
