1. Job Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and managing daily production and printing operations within the plastic packaging unit. A primary focus is ensuring all manufacturing activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in strict adherence to ISO standards and company policies, thereby delivering products that meet specified quality and customer requirements. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Quality Management & Compliance Quality Control: Directly oversee production processes (including plastic forming and printing) to ensure products consistently meet established quality standards and customer specifications . Documentation & Records: Oversee and ensure maintainance of accurate and complete production records, quality checks, inspection reports, and process data as required by the QMS. Non-Conformity Management: Identify, report, and investigate non-conforming products or processes. Implement immediate containment actions and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and the implementation of Corrective Actions (CA) . Continuous Improvement: Monitor production performance metrics (e.g., efficiency, scrap rate, rework) and actively suggest and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance quality and productivity. B. Production Planning & Efficiency Schedule Adherence: Execute the daily/weekly production plan, manage work assignments, and ensure all production and printing targets are met on time and within budget . Resource Management: Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and raw materials (plastic resins, printing inks, etc.) to maximize output and minimize waste. Troubleshooting: Quickly and effectively identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, equipment malfunctions, and process variations to prevent downtime. Material Control: Coordinate with the Inventory/Stores department to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and packaging supplies. C. Equipment & Maintenance Machine Operation: Ensure all production and printing machinery (e.g., extruders, injection molding, printing presses) are operated correctly and efficiently as per Work Instructions (WIs) . Preventive Maintenance (PM): Monitor and ensure adherence to daily, weekly, and monthly Preventive Maintenance schedules to minimize unplanned breakdowns. D. Health, Safety, and Team Management Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to all company safety regulations and good housekeeping practices to maintain a safe working environment. Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and motivate the production team (operators, technicians). Conduct performance feedback sessions. Training: Identify training needs and conduct on-the-job training (OJT) for new and existing staff on standard operating procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols. 3. Required Skills and Competencies Strong understanding and practical experience with ISO 9001 QMS principles . In-depth technical knowledge of plastic packaging manufacturing (e.g., extrusion, molding, lamination, and/or flexographic/gravure printing). Proven leadership and team management skills .
