Production Supervisor and Quality Incharge – Railway Spring Division (Hot/Cold Coiled Helical Springs)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Supervisor and Quality Incharge for our Railway Spring Division, focusing on hot-coiled and cold-coiled helical springs for rolling stock applications. The ideal candidate will oversee the end-to-end production process, ensure adherence to railway quality standards (RDSO/IRS), and implement robust quality control systems.Key Responsibilities:Production Supervision:Manage daily production activities for hot-coiled and cold-coiled helical springs.Plan and allocate manpower, machines, and materials efficiently.Monitor coil forming, heat treatment, shot peening, end grinding, and surface finishing.Ensure compliance with production schedules and minimize downtime.Implement lean manufacturing and 5S principles.Quality Control & Assurance:Oversee inspection and testing processes as per Indian Railways (RDSO) specifications.Implement and maintain ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22163 (IRIS) or relevant QMS.Supervise testing of spring parameters (load testing, hardness, dimensional checks, fatigue testing).Coordinate with internal and third-party inspection agencies.Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis, and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action).Documentation & Reporting:Maintain production records, inspection reports, and traceability documentation.Prepare monthly performance reports (OEE, rejection rate, compliance reports).Ensure documentation for RDSO/IRS certification and audits.Required Qualifications:Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field5+ years of experience in production and quality of railway/automotive spring componentsFamiliar with hot and cold coiling processes, heat treatment, and mechanical testingStrong knowledge of RDSO, IRS, EN, or UIC standards for spring manufacturingProficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and QMS toolsPreferred Skills:Hands-on experience with CNC coiling machinesUnderstanding of metallurgical properties of spring steels (e.g., 55Si7, 60SiCr7)Six Sigma or Lean certificationExcellent communication and team leadership abilities
