Product Technical Support: Electrical Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Data Research: Search, collect, and analyze electrical product specifications from various sources (catalogues, websites, databases) across multiple product categories.
• Data Analysis & Organization: Analyze, cluster, and categorize product data to support efficient product selection and cross-referencing.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Proactively engage with internal teams (engineering, sales, product management) to gather, clarify, and process data requirements.
• Data Management & Accessibility: Ensure all relevant product data and materials are organized and accessible in designated portals and tools.
• Tool Development Support: Contribute to the development and enhancement of digital tools for data querying, visualization, and cross-referencing.
• Technical Support: Assist internal stakeholders with cross-reference requests and technical product comparisons.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on new product releases and technical updates within your assigned product categories.
• Presentation & Reporting: Prepare and deliver clear presentations and reports on findings, announcement and recommendations.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical components, systems, and industry standards.
• Experience with product databases, BOM (Bill of Materials) management, and cross-referencing tools.
• Familiarity with competitor product catalogs and technical datasheets.
• Proficiency in engineering and data tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, AutoCAD, EPLAN, SAP, PLM systems, Python for data processing).
• Ability to analyze and compare technical specifications across manufacturers.
• Attention to detail in identifying differences in product features and compliance.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to diverse internal audiences.
• Creative approach to finding equivalent or alternative solutions when direct cross-references are unavailable.
• Experience working in cross-functional, agile teams.
• Ability to coordinate with product managers, R&D, and sales.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ABBs Smart Power & Smart Building product portfolio.
• Advanced skills in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Python).
• Experience in tool development for product selection or data management.
