Overview

The mission of the Product Specialist team is to demonstrate the value proposition of MSCI Analytics offering. The BarraOne Product Specialist team is technically and analytically skilled team that develops and presents solutions to prospective and existing clients to help them improve their investment process. The spectrum of knowledge and activities is very broad and includes Risk, Performance, Optimization, Stress Testing, ESG, Climate Risk and Private Assets.

 

The team contributes to success of sales and associated revenue generation by delivering and presenting analytical content during the positioning stage of the sales cycle. The team is focusing on the functional positioning, product differentiation and client driven solutions. Through in-depth understanding of the prospective client’s business needs, the team helps find practical solutions that may involve multiple MSCI products and cross team collaboration. The team also supports the upselling and cross-selling opportunities with existing clients.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills with a good knowledge of financial risk management methods. The candidate should also be a quick learner, productive and creative with an ability to thrive in a global organization. Major responsibilities include,

 

  • Be a product specialist for a Multi - Asset Class risk and performance attribution platform
  • Keep up to date with new features and enhancements being introduced in MSCI product and services
  • Liaise with sales team to understand prospective client requirements and set-up client data to demonstrate the value add of MSCI MAC solutions
  • Understanding how modelling and mapping configuration choices affect the risk and performance results delivered in our solutions
  • Ensure proper set up of client data with proper rules for term and conditions enrichment of portfolio holdings
  • Conduct prospective client trainings and demo proof of concepts of comprehensive Multi-Asset Class solutions to allow clients to visualize the product features
  • Gathering Business Requirements from Client, translate them into technical and functional requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate development requirements to MSCI product management teams
  • Effectively communicate the solution requirements to MSCI teams and client using comprehensive documentation
  • Share best practices across different client use cases based on current and potential MSCI products and solutions
  • Develop and configure standard/bespoke automated workflows based on MSCI APIs with different wrappers supported within MSCI infrastructure

 

Qualifications
  • Very strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Client relationship management experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • 3-6 years of experience in developing and deploying microservices and solutions, preferably in performance attribution, portfolio management or risk management functions
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering/quantitative background/computer science/finance/economics/mathematics. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Professional qualifications such as a CFA charter holder, FRM (Financial Risk Manager) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with programming and data visualization tools like, python, C#, Spotfire, Power BI, tableau
