Product Engineer

As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and executing complete engineering design projects, from initial concept to production release and post-production support. Your main duties and responsibilities will include: - Meeting program targets set by Program Management - Producing designs that are feasible and economical for manufacturing facilities - Providing alternative design solutions, analysis, justification, and recommendations during the concept stage - Planning, formulating, and implementing all project phases to meet customer project milestones - Reviewing product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications - Coordinating activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems - Providing support to manufacturing performance and customer service by assisting in solving production or quality problems associated with design - Ensuring all appropriate tests are performed and that product designs meet customer requirements - Controlling expenditures within the project budget - Preparing interim and completion project reports - Capturing and documenting lessons learned Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and training - 2+ years of experience in automotive seating - Technical Capacity - Thoroughness - Problem Solving/Analysis - Project Management - Presentation Skills - Computer Proficiency - GD&T and DFMEA knowledge - Advanced knowledge of safety, durability, quality, build, and tooling requirements - Knowledge of automotive development tools such as DFTLEA, Client/DFM, DOE, T&R plan, and procedures - Understanding of FEA principles - Familiarity with automotive specifications - Knowledge of computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software for design development - Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel including customers and suppliers - Maintaining confidentiality This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. You will primarily work in an office setting and on the plant floor. The physical demands of this job include using hands and fingers to handle objects, walking, standing, kneeling, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
