Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop plastic trim products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and effective design solutions.
• Conduct concept analysis and feasibility studies, executing designs based on inputs and requirements.
• Handle customer meetings independently with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
• Lead the design team and mentor junior engineers throughout the product development cycle.
• Apply knowledge of tooling, plastic manufacturing, and post-processing techniques.
• Define and validate RPS, fixation, tolerance stacks, GD&T, and F&F requirements.
• Use CAD tools like Catia V5 and NX proficiently; DMU simulation experience is an added advantage.
• Implement DFMEA, DFM, MFA, and DFA methodologies in the design process.
• Select materials based on functional and manufacturing needs considering production locations.
• Prepare BOM, grain mapping, and KC lists independently.
• Perform virtual validation using CAE and CFD tools for air vent technical requirements.
• Maintain design documentation, track design issues, and record lessons learned.
• Communicate effectively with global teams and customers.
• Travel to customer locations as required during various project phases.
• Manage projects from TKO to SOP + 3 months, ensuring end-to-end delivery.
• Translate product design performance criteria into detailed CAD models and specifications.

Experience Required:

• 7-13 years of experience in Automotive Interior Trim Design and Development.
• Proficiency in UGNX and Catia V5 for 3D modeling and detailed design.
• Strong experience in DMU Kinematics and Airvent Design.
• Hands-on expertise in tooling, plastic part design, and manufacturing processes.
• Practical experience applying DFMEA, DFM, MFA, and DFA principles.
• Sound knowledge of RPS, tolerance stack-up, GD&T, and Fit & Finish requirements.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage customer interactions independently.
• Experience using CAE and CFD tools for virtual design validation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and mentor engineers through project life cycles.
• Track record of managing projects from concept to SOP with successful customer delivery.
