Job Summary

The Purchase Executive at Melange India will be responsible for spearheading product research, market analysis, and supplier relationship management to ensure the company's purchasing needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. The role demands a proactive, results-oriented approach with an emphasis on identifying alternatives and optimizing the procurement process. Regular travel to new markets and supplier locations is essential to uncover fresh opportunities and strengthen our supply chain.

Core Responsibilities

• Product Research & Market Intelligence: Conduct in-depth research to identify emerging trends, new product offerings, and market opportunities. Provide insights into market conditions, competitor pricing, and supplier capabilities to inform purchasing decisions.
• Supplier Management & Relationship Building: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers globally. Establish long-term partnerships with key suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure that suppliers meet the company's quality standards and delivery timelines.
• Product Development Collaboration: Work closely with the product development team to source new materials, components, or finished goods. Ensure timely procurement of quality products that align with the company’s evolving needs.
• Cost Optimization & Strategic Sourcing: Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality. Identify alternative sources and negotiate competitive pricing agreements to maintain profitability while meeting business requirements.
• Market Expansion & Supplier Exploration: Travel regularly to explore new markets and meet potential suppliers. Evaluate suppliers' capabilities and assess risk factors, ensuring the company stays agile in a fast-evolving marketplace.
• Procurement Planning & Coordination: Oversee the preparation and execution of purchase orders, ensuring that the procurement process is efficient and cost-effective. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment with production schedules and inventory requirements.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Regularly review procurement data to identify trends, performance gaps, and cost-saving opportunities. Prepare and present reports to senior management on procurement activities, supplier performance, and savings initiatives.
• Risk Management & Contingency Planning: Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure the continuity of supply in case of market disruptions or unforeseen challenges.

What We Are Looking For

Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and secure favorable terms with suppliers. Exceptional analytical skills to assess market conditions, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities. Proficiency in procurement software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

Education Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in procurement.
• Proven experience as a Purchase Executive or similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
