Job Description

Job Summary

The Procurement Executive in the Infrastructure Industry is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services essential for construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing

Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and subcontractors for infrastructure projects.

Source construction materials, heavy equipment, and services in line with project requirements.

Maintain updated records of suppliers, pricing, and contracts.

Negotiation & Vendor Management

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with suppliers to ensure cost savings and quality assurance.

Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure the best deals and reliable deliveries.

Monitor supplier performance and address any quality or delivery issues.

Purchase Order & Contract Management

Prepare and process purchase orders and contract agreements.

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry standards.

Collaborate with the legal team to review procurement contracts and agreements.

Cost Control & Budgeting

Work closely with project managers and finance teams to ensure procurement aligns with project budgets.

Track procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Conduct market research and cost analysis to optimize purchasing strategies.

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.

Address supply chain disruptions and find alternative solutions when needed.

Maintain inventory levels to prevent project delays due to material shortages.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure procurement processes adhere to industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.

Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and approvals.

Support audits and compliance checks related to procurement activities.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (Water Supply, Irrigation, Roads, Bridges, power, Tunnels, Buildings, Hydro Carbons etc.).
  • Knowledge of contract management and legal aspects of procurement.
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is an advantage.
