Job Description

Role Objective- Principal for the Skills Center

To lead, manage, and develop the Skill Center by ensuring high-quality vocational training, effective center operations, industry alignment, and employability outcomes in line with organizational objectives and statutory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Academic & Training Excellence

  • Plan, implement, and monitor training programs aligned with industry requirements and NSDC/SSC frameworks.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality skill-based training with updated curriculum and practical exposure.
  • Monitor trainer performance and ensure continuous upskilling of faculty.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation norms (NSDC, SSC, State Skill Mission, ITI, etc.).

Center Operations & Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Skill Center including infrastructure, labs, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of resources and adherence to budgets.
  • Maintain statutory records, attendance, assessments, certifications, and MIS reports.

Industry & Placement Linkages

  • Develop and strengthen industry partnerships for apprenticeships, OJT, and placements.
  • Coordinate with HR, plant operations, and external employers for placement of trained candidates.
  • Track placement performance and post-placement follow-up.

CSR & Community Engagement

  • Support CSR objectives through community mobilization and outreach programs.
  • Liaise with government bodies, NGOs, and local stakeholders.
  • Promote inclusive training programs for youth, women, and underprivileged groups.

Quality, Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety norms, and statutory guidelines.
  • Implement internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management, funding agencies, and statutory authorities.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor trainers, counselors, and support staff.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
  • Handle grievances, discipline, and performance reviews.
