Power BI Developer

A Power BI Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining business intelligence reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. In this role, you will work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and IT teams to design, develop, and deploy interactive and visually appealing data visualizations. Your role is crucial in turning raw data into actionable insights for decision-makers within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Visualization: Design and develop interactive and visually compelling reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI to communicate complex data in an easily understandable manner.
• Data Transformation: Transform and clean raw data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency for use in Power BI.
• Data Modeling: Create and maintain data models that support the organization's reporting and analysis needs. Utilize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for advanced calculations.
• Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI, including databases, cloud services, and APIs.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure quick load times and a smooth user experience.
• User Training: Provide training and support to end-users to help them understand and navigate Power BI reports and dashboards effectively.
• Report Automation: Automate the generation and distribution of reports using Power BI's scheduling and subscription features.
• Data Security: Implement and manage data security and access controls within Power BI to ensure data confidentiality and compliance with data governance policies.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Monitor and troubleshoot issues with Power BI reports and data connections, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with business analysts and data analysts to gather requirements and understand data needs to create reports that address business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling and DAX.
• Strong SQL and data manipulation skills.
• Experience working with data visualization tools and techniques.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and data integration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance standards is a plus.
• 2 years experience preferred
