PostGreSQL, MS SQL, DB Programmer Lead
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and translate existing T-SQL code (stored procedures, triggers, functions, scripts) into equivalent PL/pgSQL for Aurora PostgreSQL.
Convert and optimize database logic for performance and compatibility with PostgreSQL.
Develop custom scripts for data transformation, validation, and migration tasks.
Work closely with DBAs, data architects, and application developers to ensure consistency and correctness across platforms.
Assist with performance tuning of queries and indexing strategies post-migration.
Create documentation of converted logic, including code annotations and data flow diagrams.
Support testing and validation of migrated database components.
Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and post-migration support.
Required Skills & Experience:
3–5+ years of experience in SQL development with MS SQL Server (T-SQL).
1–3+ years of experience in PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL) development, preferably with Aurora PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience with database migration projects, especially involving cross-platform conversions.
Solid understanding of relational database principles, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.
Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) is a plus.
Familiarity with tools for source control (e.g., Git), scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell), and automation.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with JSON, XML, and handling semi-structured data in SQL.
Exposure to cloud environments, especially AWS RDS / Aurora.
Knowledge of data modeling and ER tools (e.g., ER/Studio, pgModeler).
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
