POSTGRES MSSQL DBA

Database Administrator – Pune, India

Role Purpose

As a Database Administrator, you will operate, optimize, and ensure the availability of Accelya’s cloud databases. You will also plan and execute the seamless migration of on-premise databases to the cloud. Working within a small team, you will execute Accelya’s cloud data strategy in alignment with the company’s global business objectives, values, and mission. The successful candidate will deliver database changes and meet performance targets while maintaining the satisfaction of Accelya’s global airline partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build and manage AWS RDS Aurora PostgreSQL and MSSQL database instances.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of relational database design and the internal architectures of PostgreSQL and MSSQL, with experience in both on-premise and AWS RDS environments.
• Experience with AWS Database Migration Services (DMS) and Babelfish for Aurora PostgreSQL is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Python and PowerShell is desirable.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

• Proactive and analytical approach to monitoring database performance and troubleshooting issues.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize queries, resolve performance bottlenecks, and improve existing schemas.
• Design and implement new database architectures where needed.
• Create and maintain change control and testing processes, including reviewing and approving database modifications.
• Maintain documentation and test failover and recovery plans.
• Experience supporting a 24x7 production environment.
• Understanding of virtualized and clustered environments.
