Role & responsibilities Job Purpose: Overall responsible for P&L including safety, Quality, compliance, and ensuring all costs (Raw material, Conversion) within budgeted levels, achieving budgeted production Quantities, and delivering on time. Principal Accountabilities: Manufacturing Strategy: Implement best practices in the manufacturing industry which will lead to the highest quality product. Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities. Initiate and develop creative and innovative manufacturing processes. Managing Costs: Responsible for meeting the cost targets w.r.t raw material and conversion costs and ensuring YOY reduction. Closely work with finance to reduce all fixed, semi-variable and variable costs. Production Planning and Execution Responsible for ensuring proper planning for budgeted production quantity . Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering Quality products on time. Negotiation with all contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors. Coordination with internal and external stakeholders: Coordination with sales on delivery timelines, delays, and all other issues. Coordination with the supply chain. Vendor management with respect to on-time delivery, quality and cost. Coordination with Design for on-time release of drawings and product optimization. Vendor Management: Managing and Developing People Selection of production, Quality, planning, etc. Training of all zone leaders, group leaders, and managers. Safety and Quality Process Compliance Knowledge & Skills needed to deliver on the accountabilities: Technical skills Fabrication- Cutting and forming, Welding & Painting Processes. 5S and Shop Safety Know How. Techniques to Improve Production Efficiency Planning, Communication, and presentation skills. Knowledge of QC Tools. Problem-solving skills and initiative Develop and sustain process improvement to manufacture Built-in quality products. Standardized work – Work instruction sheet, Workload balancing. Min Max Management. Kanban with Internal Logistics Management. Knowhow on JIT & Jidoka FIFO. Training – Shop floor Management. Formal Education Requirements, as applicable: Graduate B. Tech / BE – Mechanical Experience in operating and influencing at a strategic level Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components, and manufacturing techniques. Years of relevant Experience needed: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience in manufacturing industry. Preferred candidate profile
