Physical Design Engineer, Block Owner

As a member of Waymo's Compute Team, your critical and exciting mission is to deliver the compute platform responsible for running the fully autonomous vehicle's software stack. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to work on one of the world's highest performance automotive compute platforms. Your role will involve participating in the Physical Design of advanced silicon for self-driving cars, contributing to the design and closure of full chip and individual blocks, and collaborating with internal and external teams for optimal performance. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in the Physical Design of advanced silicon for self-driving cars. - Contribute to the design and closure of full chip and individual blocks with a focus on block ownership. - Collaborate with internal and external teams to achieve the best PPA possible, including feasibility studies for new microarchitectures and optimizing runs for finished RTL. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of experience in PD design tasks in advanced silicon nodes with a minimum of 2 tapeouts. - Expertise in owning a complex, computation heavy, high-frequency block from RTL-to-GDS with a focus on Synthesis and Placement, along with knowledge and experience in all tasks. - Deep knowledge of timing constraints, with the ability to generate, maintain, and verify SDC files. - Proficiency in scripting with demonstrated skills in TCL and Python. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to work under tight schedules. Additional Details: The role may require infrequent travel to Mountain View, CA, or partner sites (up to 15%). Salary Range: 5,500,000-6,650,000 INR.,
