Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Processing:

• Manage the complete monthly payroll cycle, including the collection, calculation, and input of payroll data for all employees.
• Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, wages, bonuses, overtime, and other compensation.
• Process all statutory and non-statutory deductions, such as Provident Fund (PF), Employees' State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), and income tax (TDS).
• Process new hires, terminations, promotions, and other employee status changes in the payroll system.
• Maintain and update employee records, including attendance, leave, and personal information, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

2. Statutory Compliance:

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns, including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, and TDS returns, in compliance with government regulations.
• Manage the generation of challans and the timely remittance of statutory dues to the appropriate authorities.
• Stay updated on changes in central and state-level labor laws and regulations (e.g., Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Bonus Act) and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
• Handle all payroll-related audits, inspections, and assessments by government bodies and internal/external auditors.
• Serve as the primary liaison with government departments and local authorities for all compliance-related matters.

3. Reporting and Reconciliation:

• Prepare and submit various payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify and rectify any inaccuracies or discrepancies.
• Reconcile payroll with financial records to ensure accuracy and resolve any out-of-balance conditions.

4. Employee Support:

• Address and resolve employee inquiries and concerns regarding payroll, taxation, and benefits in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to all employees.
