Job Summary

The Optometrist will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing visual conditions, and supporting ophthalmologists in delivering accurate and effective patient care. The role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct routine and comprehensive eye examinations.
2. Assess visual acuity, field of vision, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination.
3. Diagnose refractive errors and vision-related conditions such as myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism, and color blindness.
4. Prescribe corrective lenses, spectacles, contact lenses, and medications as required.
5. Identify and evaluate ocular diseases and systemic conditions affecting vision.
6. Assist ophthalmologists during OPD consultations and diagnostic procedures.
7. Educate patients on eye care, lens usage, and preventive eye health practices.
8. Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
9. Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies.

Qualifications & Education

• M.Sc. / B.Sc. / Diploma in Optometry

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Up to 2 years of clinical experience (freshers may also be considered).
• Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, diseases, and diagnostic techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient-focused with good analytical and observational abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a clinical and team-based environment.
