TVS SCS Is Expanding in Khopoli.

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end logistics and warehouse operations for a key solar industry customer. This includes managing inventory, ensuring on-time delivery, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining high service levels, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management

  • Manage day-to-day warehouse and transportation operations for the solar customer.
  • Ensure timely receipt, storage, dispatch, and installation support (if applicable) of solar modules, inverters, and BOS (Balance of System) components.
  • Coordinate with transporters and internal teams to meet delivery SLAs.

2. Inventory & Warehouse Control

  • Ensure accurate inventory management through periodic cycle counts and reconciliation.
  • Oversee storage of sensitive solar equipment under recommended conditions (temperature, handling guidelines, etc.).
  • Implement best practices in space utilization and layout planning.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Act as the single point of contact for the solar client.
  • Regularly review operational KPIs with the customer (OTIF, damage rate, fill rate, etc.).
  • Manage customer escalations and resolve issues proactively.

4. People & Team Management

  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of supervisors, warehouse staff, and logistics coordinators.
  • Ensure proper workforce planning, shift allocation, and productivity tracking.
  • Promote a safety-first culture in all warehouse activities.

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all operations comply with statutory and customer-specific requirements (e.g., GST, E-way bills, reverse logistics, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all inward/outward movements and audits.

6. Performance Improvement

  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Leverage data and reports to optimize operations and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Work closely with IT/Tech teams to improve WMS/TMS integration and utilization.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of 3PL operations, specifically in the solar or renewable energy sector.
    Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), TMS, and ERP systems (SAP preferred). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with handling fragile and high-value technical equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Engineering (preferred).
  • MBA/PGDM in Operations or Logistics is an advantage.
  • 610 years of experience in logistics/warehousing, with at least 23 years in a managerial role, preferably in a solar or similar industry.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with solar EPC companies or OEMs.
    Familiarity with large-scale project-based dispatches and reverse logistics (e.g., replacement of damaged panels). Exposure to green logistics or sustainable practices is a plus.
