Operations Manager - Global Sourcing - Valve Assembly - Coimbatore

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible

  for products sourced/Manufactured from India for Global

  ,

  Includes material localization, assembly, sourcing of products/components, sub-contracting, etc.

• Responsible for products sourced/Manufactured from India for Global market at competitive price.
• Responsible for on time delivery of component & products from Indian suppliers
• Work with cross functioning teams to achieve on time delivery for export projects.

• Identify & develop new vendors for sourcing water works valves (AWWA) & components

  .

• Identify source for material localization & sub-contracting

  .
• Negotiate to achieve the product target cost.

• Costing and quote preparation for casting/machines/fabricated/moulded components & products.

• Manage import/export activities for smooth transactions.

• Work with global sourcing team on various initiatives of sourcing

• Technical assessment of suppliers & reduce risk on delivery.

• Identify

  value engineering /cost reduction

  areas thru sourcing activities.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification & Skills:

• BE/masters degree in engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related field.10+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or production management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  (Mechanical, Production, SCM, Operations)

• Understanding of

  ISO /AWWA/ASTM/NSF/UL/FM standards applicable for water works valves.

• Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes viz

  casting, machining, forging, fabrication, injection moulding, compression moulding

  etc.

• Experience on costing estimation for parts manufactured from above manufacturing processes.

• Experience working with

  OEMs and Contract Manufacturers in the Casting/Valve Industry

• Excellent communicators, capable of working with global teams
• Experience

  with ERP/MRP systems

  and data-driven decision-making processes.
• Ability to influence across multiple functional teams
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
• Top-notch analytical/negotiation skills
• Ability to toggle between strategic and detail orientated thinking
• Tenacious problem solving & issue resolution skills
• Flexibility to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing environment
• Should be ready to work out of Coimbatore Location
