Role Overview

The consultant will lead the end-to-end deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) on up to 30 VMs and the complete installation, configuration, and validation of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). The role includes architecture creation, documentation, integration, knowledge transfer, and remote/onsite support for 6 months post-go-live.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Planning

• Conduct discovery workshops with customer IT/security teams
• Define high-level and low-level architecture (HLD/LLD)
• Validate prerequisites:
• Servers/storage readiness
• Network (VLAN, bonding, routing, firewall rules)
• DNS/NTP/LDAP/Domain
• Red Hat repos and subscription access

2. RHEL Installation

• Install RHEL on all identified nodes/VMs (up to 30)
• Perform subscription registration
• Apply OS-level hardening best practices
• Setup required repos, packages, and configuration

3. OpenShift Deployment

• Deploy OpenShift Cluster (IPI/UPI depending on customer)
• Configure:
• DNS
• Load Balancer / Ingress
• Networking (SDN/CNI)
• Storage Classes
• Worker/master configurations
• Proxy settings (if required)
• Register cluster with Red Hat Cloud Console
• Integrate LDAP/AD for authentication

4. Validation & Testing

• Perform cluster health checks
• Conduct performance tests and configuration verification
• Generate validation & readiness reports

5. Documentation

• Architecture diagrams
• Installation/configuration steps
• Integration guide
• Security & hardening notes
• Troubleshooting guide
• Acceptance/Test report

6. Knowledge Transfer

• Conduct KT sessions with customer team
• Provide admin & operations training
• Handover all design/config documentation

7. Post Go-Live Support (6 Months)

• Incident resolution
• Performance tuning
• Configuration support
• Proactive monitoring guidance
• Onsite visit (1–2 times if critical issue & remote support not enough)

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–6+ years hands-on OpenShift deployment experience
• Strong RHEL 7/8/9 administration experience
• Hands-on with
• OCP cluster deployment (IPI/UPI)
• Operators, Storage, Ingress
• Load balancer technologies (F5/HAProxy/Ingress)
• Networking: VLANs, bonding, IP planning
• DNS, NTP, Authentication services (LDAP/AD)
• Should have implemented 2+ production OCP clusters
• Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Strong documentation capabilities
• Good communication and customer-facing ability
• Willingness to travel onsite (Nagpur)
