Office Accountant

As a Transportation Office Accountant with Field Responsibilities, your role involves managing financial records, billing, and expense tracking for transportation operations. This position requires a combination of office-based accounting tasks and field visits to ensure smooth financial operations. Key Responsibilities: - Office Duties: - Prepare and maintain daily financial records, invoices, and receipts for transportation transactions. - Reconcile bank statements, fuel expenses, and trip reports with accounting records. - Maintain and update transport ledgers, fuel logs, and driver allowance sheets. - Support in monthly financial reporting, GST filing, and expense forecasting. - Collaborate with Operations and Dispatch teams to ensure cost accuracy for each trip. - Field Duties: - Visit transport sites, loading/unloading points, or client locations to verify delivery documents and cross-check billing details. - Conduct spot audits of vehicle expenses, fuel slips, and driver logs. - Assist in cash handling and expense reimbursement during field operations. - Monitor vehicle trips and kilometre logs for cost efficiency and compliance. Qualifications Required: - Diploma or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration. - 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet accounting preferred. - Strong knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or Zoho Books). - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to travel for field audits and verification visits. - Strong communication and problem-solving skills. In the work environment, you can expect to spend 70% of your time on office work involving accounting, billing, and documentation, and 30% of your time on field work conducting trip verification, audits, and client/vendor visits. Occasional travel to branch offices, warehouses, or client sites may be required based on operational needs.
