Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team. The OT will assess, plan, and implement therapy programs to help children and/or adults develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living, education, work, and independent functioning. The therapist will work closely with families, educators, and other professionals to support holistic development and well-being.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct assessments to identify functional, sensory, motor, and cognitive challenges. - Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on client needs and goals. - Support children/adults in improving fine motor skills, gross motor skills, self-care, handwriting, and daily living activities. - Provide sensory integration therapy and strategies to regulate behavior and attention. -
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. - Monitor progress and adjust therapy plans as needed. - Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and IEP/therapy records. - Educate families and caregivers on home-based activities and carryover strategies. - Stay updated with best practices and advancements in occupational therapy.
Qualifications & Skills - Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution. - Valid license/registration as an Occupational Therapist (as per state or national regulations). - Experience working with children/adults with developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, or physical disabilities (preferred). - Strong knowledge of sensory integration, motor development, and functional skill training. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. - Empathy, patience, and a child/family-centered approach.
Work Environment - Therapy sessions conducted in one-to-one and group settings. - Collaboration with multidisciplinary professionals including speech therapists, physiotherapists, special educators, and psychologists. - Engagement with families to encourage progress beyond therapy sessions.
