New Product Development (NPD) Engineer - CNC Machine Shop

Roles & Responsibilities

• Leading the development of new products from concept through production, including BOM creation, design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
• Incorporate quality principles and methodologies (e.g., Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)) early in the design process.
• Define product quality specifications, test protocols, and acceptance criteria for new products and components.
• Oversee design verification and validation (DV&V) testing, analyzing results, and leading corrective actions (Root Cause Analysis, CAPA) for any non-conformances.
• Creating detailed cost estimates for new products & tenders inquires, including materials, labor, tooling, and overhead expenses.
• Managing the project timeline, resources, and milestones to ensure the new product is delivered on schedule.
• Coordinating with internal teams (Marketing, Purchase, OSP, Design, Production) according to the customer’s requirement to carry out the process smoothly.
• Manage all NPD related documents specific to each customer.
• Timely update on every stage in the process to the manager and the customer.
• Provide technical inputs and support to Design, Purchase and OSP department.
• Identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising product quality or functionality. This can involve finding alternative materials, optimizing manufacturing processes, or negotiating with suppliers.
• Preparing and presenting cost reports and financial forecasts to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 10-15 years of experience in new product development in a CNC machine shop environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, including milling, boring, turning and grinding.
• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
