This on-site consultant role in Bhimavaram demands a high-performing clinical surgeon who can lead complex operative care, perioperative management, and multidisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes.Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical care: evaluate, plan and perform elective and emergency cranial and spinal surgeries including tumor resections, decompressions and CSF diversion procedures.
- Execute advanced operative techniques—microsurgery, endoscopic skull base approaches, minimally invasive spine procedures and spinal instrumentation—with strict adherence to surgical safety protocols.
- Lead perioperative management and neurocritical care coordination with ICU, anesthesia and rehabilitation teams to optimise outcomes and reduce complications.
- Operate and supervise use of neuronavigation, intraoperative neuro-monitoring and operating microscope; ensure equipment readiness and protocol compliance.
- Mentor and train junior surgeons, residents and nursing staff; maintain accurate surgical documentation, outcomes tracking and morbidity-mortality reporting.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, trauma reviews and quality-improvement initiatives; contribute to clinical governance and pathway development.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MCh Neurosurgery or DrNB Neurosurgery qualification.
- Valid registration with the appropriate State Medical Council in India.
- Proven experience performing cranial and spinal neurosurgical procedures with strong operative outcomes.
- Hands-on expertise in microsurgery, endoscopic skull base techniques and spinal instrumentation.
- Familiarity with neuronavigation systems and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring workflows.
- Current ACLS certification and competence in neurocritical postoperative care.
Preferred
- Fellowship training in vascular neurosurgery, skull base surgery, spine deformity or neuro-oncology.
- Prior practice experience in a tertiary-care neurosurgery unit or academic centre.
- Record of publications, clinical audits or teaching contributions in neurosurgery.
