A Network Engineer designs, builds, manages, and troubleshoots an organization's computer networks (LANs, WANs, Cloud) to ensure secure, efficient data flow, handling tasks like configuring routers/switches/firewalls, monitoring performance, implementing security, planning upgrades, and resolving connectivity issues for optimal uptime and scalability. Key Responsibilities: Design & Implementation: Create network layouts, configure hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs), and install new solutions. Maintenance & Monitoring: Oversee network performance, troubleshoot issues (latency, packet loss), apply patches, and ensure 24/7 uptime. Security: Implement security protocols, manage firewalls, create access policies, and protect against cyber threats. Optimization: Enhance performance via QoS, optimize routing, and plan for future growth and scalability. Collaboration: Work with IT teams, vendors, and users to resolve problems and align network with business needs. Documentation: Maintain accurate network diagrams, protocols, and configurations.
