Role Overview: The Network Operations Network Engineer II/III at Rackspace Technology plays a crucial role in the Infrastructure team, ensuring the uptime and maintenance of critical networking systems. As a Racker in this position, you will take ownership of complex network issues, resolve them, and document them for handoff to the next shift. You will also be responsible for addressing escalated issues from other Network Operations Engineers and providing training and mentorship opportunities when necessary. The Network Engineer III will be actively involved in driving technology, tool, process, and training improvements for the team, leveraging technical expertise to ensure successful implementation. Key Responsibilities: - Provide day-to-day operational support and work on project-based initiatives. - Offer exceptional customer support via the ticketing system and phone. - Detect events promptly using monitoring tools and mitigate DDoS attacks to safeguard customer and shared infrastructure. - Document planned and unplanned network events accurately in the appropriate tracking systems. - Troubleshoot and resolve network events, creating detailed event documentation. - Take ownership of customer requests and engineer escalations, ensuring resolution. - Escalate support requests to other teams and vendors as needed. - Adhere to Change Management and Maintenance policies and processes. - Participate in Root Cause Analysis and propose new policy and process standards. - Own self-identified or assigned projects, ensuring proper documentation and resolution. - Review, assist in defining, and propose new policy and process standards. Qualification Required: - Experience with technologies such as Cloud/On-premises support for Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, and Zscaler.
