Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, and securing network infrastructures, with expertise in FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba ClearPass, and wireless technologies. This role requires a solid understanding of network administration and security practices to ensure seamless and secure network operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation:
- Design, configure, and deploy network solutions including routers, switches, and wireless networks.
- Implementation and support experience in routing protocols like BGP, OSPF and switching technologies VTP, VLAN, Ether Channel, HSRP/VRRP.
- Implement network segmentation, VLANs, and access control to optimize performance and security.
- Firewall and Security Management:
- Configure and manage FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, including creating security policies, VPN configurations, and threat prevention.
- Monitor firewall logs and respond to security incidents.
- Wireless Network Management:
- Deploy and manage Aruba wireless solutions, including controllers and access points.
- Configure and maintain Aruba ClearPass for network access control (NAC) and authentication services.
- Conduct wireless site surveys to optimize coverage, performance, and security.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot connectivity problems, hardware issues, and security vulnerabilities.
- Access Control and Authentication:
- Implement and maintain network access control using Aruba ClearPass.
- Understanding of 802.1X authentication and ensure secure access for all users and devices.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed network diagrams, firewall rules, and security configurations.
- Generate reports on network health, security events, and performance metrics.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the IT security team to align network security strategies.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on network-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in network administration.
- Hands-on experience with FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Proficiency in Aruba wireless solutions and ClearPass.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA, or Aruba Certified ClearPass Associate (ACCA) are highly desirable.
