Netbackup Admin

The Role

The Storage & Backup Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise storage and backup solutions. This role ensures data availability, integrity, and recoverability across all systems, supporting business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.

Responsibilities:

* Administer, configure, and troubleshoot IBM FlashSystem 7300 (FS7300) and IBM SVC (SAN Volume Controller) environments.

* Manage and optimize NetApp C Series storage arrays, including provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

* Implement and maintain data replication strategies using IBM replication technologies and NetApp

* Design, implement, and manage Veritas NetBackup 11 solutions.

* Administer and troubleshoot NetBackup FlexScale and NetBackup Flex Appliances.

* Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Brocade SAN switches.

* Strong knowledge and practical experience with Inter-Switch Links (ISL) configuration and optimization.

* Execute switch replacements and upgrades in a production environment with minimal downtime.

* Monitor storage infrastructure health, performance, and capacity, taking proactive measures to address potential issues.

* Implement and enforce security best practices for storage systems.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

* Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Storage Administrator.

* Strong expertise in IBM Storage: IBM FlashSystem 7300 (FS7300) and IBM SVC.

* Strong expertise in NetApp Storage: NetApp C Series and SnapMirror replication.

* Strong expertise in Veritas NetBackup 11: Including NetBackup FlexScale and NetBackup Flex Appliances.

* Strong knowledge of IBM replication technologies.

* Proven experience with Brocade SAN switches: Including ISL configuration and switch

replacement procedures.

* Solid understanding of Fibre Channel protocols, zoning, and multipathing.

* Experience with performance analysis and tuning of storage systems.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

* Certifications in IBM Storage, NetApp, Brocade, or NetBackup.

* Scripting skills Ansible.

* Experience with GCP backups
