Job Description Summary Specialist with naval architecture knowledge and strong analytical skills to create, develop and maintain accurate digital ship models for performance simulation, energy optimization and reference purposes. This role involves working closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure ship models maintained in internal system reflect up to date specifications and design changes. Position also requires continuous upkeep and troubleshooting of ship models used for testing, visualizations, and presentations. Candidate Must have: Education : BE or B.Tech - Naval Architecture Experience :3 to 5 Years Analytics tools: Power BI, SQL, Python & CMMs handling Experience/ knowledge of Vessel Model Who we are looking for The ideal candidate will have a strong technical engineering background preferably with knowledge around naval architectural topics and a solid experience within data analytics, understanding of ship design principles, structural mechanics, vessel performance optimization and if possible general understanding of global container liner network operations. Should also be a confident and effective communicator, with the ability to discuss technical topics in all levels of a global organization along with great presentation skills. Key Responsibilities Create vessel models in 3MDS(Internal tool) (Master data Management). Analytics tools: Power BI, SQL & Python Ensure vessel models are accurately represented, including exterior, interior, structural elements, and mechanical systems. Regularly update models to reflect design changes, machinery updates, or performance improvements. Collaborate with internal teams to gather and input vessel specifications. Optimize vessel models for various applications in internal systems. Support technical and performance teams in simulating ships behaviour in various conditions and configurations. Retrofit benefit tracking together with performance teams Integrate motion dynamics and other factors for performance testing and optimization. Identify and troubleshoot issues with models if any. Work with cross-functional teams, including StarConnect product teams, performance, vessel owners, technical managers and manufacturing teams, to ensure models meet technical requirements and expectations. Support interaction with StarConnect on analytics behind target setting and fuel savings calculations together with vessel performance managers Develop small tools related to energy optimisation which can support Fleet Technology on daily tasks or projects. Other key areas will include: Holistic data analysis based on data from our fleet enabling insights which could drive further energy savings Interaction with internal software platform teams to develop, push and guide development of new features which could enable next step in fuel savings. You will further be responsible for supporting our drive on ensuring efficient vessel operation based on data driven decisions.

Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field. 5-6 years of experience in naval architecture or marine design. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and naval architecture tools (e.g., Rhino, Maxsurf). Strong knowledge of hydrodynamics, structural analysis, and marine systems. Familiarity with international maritime regulations and standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Project management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities: The selected candidate is expected to carry out following activities: Concept Design of Ships - Prepare general arrangement for various types of vessels, perform basic naval architectural calculations of vessel sizing, lines plan development, resistance & powering, bollard pull calculations, propeller design, midship section, steel MTO and lightship weight estimation. Preparation of Statutory Plans including Fire Control Plan, Life Saving Appliances Plan, Crew Accommodation Plan, Towing Plan, GMDSS Plan, Tonnage Computation Plan etc. The candidate is also expected to assist in Basic Design of Ships- Involve in preparation of basic structural drawings and calculations. Provides technical and critical business input and oversight to the design engineering process in phases such as problem definition, conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, and design communication. 2. Lead the conceptual and detailed design phases for piping systems, including HVAC, fuel, water, waste, and hydraulic systems, ensuring designs align with project requirements. 4. Establishes calculations for mechanical and piping systems including compressed air, HVAC, seawater, ballast, bilge, fire main, potable water, engine cooling, exhaust system, vent & sound, emergency bilge, hydraulic piping system, sanitary & deck drain system, etc. 13. Ensures department IMS procedures are followed for design development and control. Reviews owner and class comments. 14. Resolve site issues and provides solutions to production. 15. Responsible for training and development of the piping and mechanical engineering team. 16. Identifies and creates potential change orders as per the technical scope of work. 17. Advises the head of Marine on technical issues to ensure class compliance and owner comments, ensuring that engineering deliverables are completed as per the agreed project schedule and with acceptable quality. 18. Properly delegates work to piping designers and ensures that the engineering KPIs for the Piping Engineering department are achieved, guiding piping designers to develop drawings in accordance with the contract specifications. 19. Estimates the man-hours for piping engineering during the bidding stage of the project. 20. Monitors the man-hours spent by electrical designers in the development of piping drawings upon the award of the project and evaluates comments from clients to identify potential change orders. 21. Ensures that drawings are issued in line with the safety requirements of the yard and classification rules, ensuring that the design meets all the statutory code requirements specified in the contract, displaying safe behavior on-site and in the office. Ensures drawings and designs are produced to meet the contract technical specifications and class rules, working alongside the designer to produce drawings to meet the department KPIs for quality.
