Position in the Organization

The National Process Manager plays a critical role in driving process engineering excellence, sustainability, and process safety across existing and upcoming manufacturing plants. This position exists to ensure that all process-related initiativesfrom design and optimization to compliance and innovationare aligned with the organizations strategic goals. By leading cross-functional projects such as new plant setups (Stone Wool and Gypsum Board), sustainability programs (water and heat recovery), and process safety implementations (HAZOP, MOC, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001), the role directly contributes to operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and long-term business sustainability.

The National Process Manager reports to the Head of Operations/Engineering and collaborates closely with plant teams, EHS, project management, and leadership to ensure seamless execution and continuous improvement. This position is responsible for translating technical expertise into business impact and supports the organizations mission of delivering safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.

Job Summary

The National Process Manager is responsible for leading process engineering, process safety, and sustainability initiatives across existing and upcoming manufacturing plants. Success in this role is defined by the effective design and optimization of process systems, seamless execution of new plant setups (Stone Wool and Gypsum Board), and measurable improvements in operational efficiency and safety. The role demands proactive leadership in conducting risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA), implementing Management of Change (MOC), and driving sustainability projects such as water and heat recovery. Key outcomes include enhanced process safety compliance, reduced environmental impact, improved plant performance, and strategic alignment with business goals through data-driven insights, MIS reporting, and management presentations. The incumbent will also play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in process design and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering Leadership:

Lead process design and optimization for upcoming manufacturing plants in the Insulation (Stone Wool) and Gypsum Board (Gyproc) businesses, each with a projected capital investment of 100150 Cr. Ensure timely and cost-effective execution of engineering deliverables.

Sustainability Projects:

Drive sustainability initiatives such as water and heat recovery systems, targeting a reduction of 1015% in energy and water consumption across plants. Collaborate with plant teams to implement environmentally responsible solutions aligned with corporate ESG goals.

Process Safety Implementation:

Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) standards across all plants. Conduct HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA, and Area Classification studies, ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal safety protocols. Track and report leading and lagging indicators to reduce incident rates by 20% year-over-year.

Innovative Engineering Projects:

Lead OTO basic and detailed engineering for new projects, ensuring integration of safety, sustainability, and performance criteria. Deliver engineering solutions that improve process efficiency by 1020% and reduce operational risks.

MIS & Management Reporting:

Develop and maintain MIS dashboards and performance reports for senior leadership. Present strategic updates, project progress, and improvement plans in monthly and quarterly reviews.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with mechanical, E&I, safety, and project teams to ensure seamless execution of process initiatives. Support change management and process development across multiple plant locations.

Training & Capability Building:

Conduct training sessions for plant personnel on process safety awareness, SOPs, and best practices. Build technical capability across teams to support long-term operational excellence.
