Our client, a leading global agribusiness and food conglomerate, is looking to hire an ASSOCIATE TEAM LEAD – MIDDLE OFFICE – FREIGHT. Location: Mohali, Punjab, India.

Job Purpose:

The position is responsible for support to Middle Office Freight (MO) function in managing/performing daily risk position, daily P&L reporting, Future/option reconciliation, MTM on month end & Balance sheet Reconciliations etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily validation of Unrealized/realized MTM on Futures/options
• Prepare the daily reconciliation of Unrealized/realized MTM on Futures/options
• Daily validation of bunkers Swaps and confirmation with commercial teams
• Reconciliation of bunker swaps in IMOS with the broker’s statement
• Reconciliation of FFAs in IMOS with the brokers’ statements
• Send open contracts
• Follow up with VCs open positions
• Daily tracking of freight destination position by VC and validation in IMOS
• Supporting daily PnL preparations based on the market price movements
• Prepare the file for the MTM calculation for the month end closing
• Prepare margin calls file before validation of payment
• Support the FP&A team on the SOX controls/documentations
• Prepare month-end physical MtM inter-co file
• Follow-up and tracking of daily applications/executions
• Updating of tracker related to daily, weekly and monthly activities
• SOP Preparing and updating as per current process time to time.
• Testing for upcoming projects if any

Additional responsibilities:

• Resolve queries within defined timelines.
• Review and support Officers in Accounting & Reporting activities.
• Provide reports and run queries to assist Traders in period end closing process.
• Identify ideas for process improvement utilizing industry leading practices.
• Handle exceptions generated, perform root cause analysis to resolve current issues and act proactively to avert potential issues in future.
• Provide all information, documents, and reports for audit. Post the audit; take steps as per corrective action plan drafted by the Team Leader.
• File and archive relevant documents.

Required:

• 2-3 years of work experience in a similar role.
• Experience in Agribusiness/Commodity trading industry preferred.
• Minimum Education Qualification – C.A. / CMA / FRM / MBA will be preferred.
• Good knowledge of concepts and procedures related to Mark to Market, Options, Futures, Hedging, Intercompany and Risk Positions.
• Ability to provide high quality level of customer service for MTM, Intercompany and other reporting activities.
• Ability to work independently, efficiently and deliver high quality output under time pressure.
• Independent and meticulous with figures
• Strong communication & Interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal/external teams across the Globe.
• Strong problem solving & organization skills.
• Develop knowledge of the business, accounting systems, Reconciliation policy, Finance Control standards and Quality Framework and ensure compliance with these.
• Experience in managing people and processes through a sustained period of change.
• Excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience in ERP/ Accounting systems (SAP) will be added advantage.
• Strong Team Player.
• Knowledge of European languages will be added advantage.

• Experience working in a similar Shared Services Centre setup a distinct advantage.
• Experience in SAP.
• Flexibility to work in different time zones.
