Role Overview

The Head of Finance will lead the companys finance function, driving financial strategy, governance, and performance to support sustainable growth in the edible oil sector. This role requires a commercially astute leader who can partner with business heads, strengthen financial controls, optimize working capital, and ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. The candidate will act as a key advisor to the leadership team, playing a pivotal role in decision-making and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement the companys financial strategy aligned with overall business goals.
• Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board in driving growth, profitability, and capital allocation decisions.
• Lead financial planning for expansion, diversification, and new business opportunities.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
• Monitor business performance against KPIs; recommend corrective actions.
• Provide insightful analysis on margins, pricing strategies, and market trends in edible oils.

Controllership & Compliance

• Oversee accounting, audit, taxation, and statutory compliance (Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, etc.).
• Establish robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and governance practices.
• Liaise with auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.

Treasury & Working Capital Management

• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and fund-raising (loans, trade finance, etc.).
• Optimize working capital cycles (credit, inventory, and payables) for efficiency.
• Implement hedging strategies to mitigate commodity price and forex risks.

Business Partnering & Operations

• Partner with all departments to drive cost efficiency and profitability.
• Work closely with JV partners to ensure proper
• Support decision-making on product mix, capex investments, and new market entries.
• Track plant/operations financials and ensure cost controls across manufacturing units.

Team Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
• Drive capability building, succession planning, and culture of accountability.

Key Requirements

• Education:

  Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or MBA (Finance).

• Experience:

  15+ years in finance leadership roles, preferably in Edible Oils / FMCG / food processing / manufacturing industries.
• Proven track record in managing finance at scale, including plant finance and commodity-linked businesses.
• Strong understanding of commodity pricing, hedging, and trade finance.
• Demonstrated expertise in working capital management and fund-raising.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High integrity, commercial acumen, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
