Job Title: Junior Video Editor (with After Effects Knowledge)

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and technically sound Junior Video Editor with a strong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects to support the video production workflow for a large-scale political digital campaign. The ideal candidate will assist in developing high-impact content for social media and digital platforms, including short-form edits, motion design, animated templates, and reel-ready visuals. This role requires speed, precision, and strong attention to narrative flow, typography, and visual rhythm.

Key Responsibilities

1. Video Editing Support

• Assist in editing campaign videos including speeches, byte clips, testimonials, montages, and public engagement visuals.
• Trim, sequence, and structure video files with appropriate transitions and pacing as per the creative brief.
• Add subtitles, logo overlays, end frames, and campaign colors to maintain consistency across content.

2. Motion Graphics and After Effects Animation

• Design and implement lower-thirds, intro slates, animated transitions, and visual effects using Adobe After Effects.
• Animate campaign text, data points, or image sequences for better audience retention.
• Work with templates and pre-comps to accelerate turnaround time without compromising quality.

3. Platform-Ready Exports

• Prepare final video outputs in various formats (vertical, square, widescreen) and resolutions suited for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, and WhatsApp.
• Optimize file size, sound clarity, subtitle placement, and export quality for fast upload and reuse.

4. Collaboration and Task Coordination

• Follow the instructions and timelines provided by the Senior Video Editor and Creative Director.
• Receive raw footage, AI-generated visuals, voiceovers, and graphics from other teams and integrate them seamlessly.
• Maintain structured project folders and update the team regularly on edit progress.

5. Creative Input & Iteration

• Share design and animation ideas to enhance the visual quality of edits.
• Be open to feedback and capable of making quick revisions based on internal reviews.
• Ensure edits align with the tone, urgency, and messaging required by the campaign.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Education

• Diploma or degree in Visual Communication, Media Arts, Animation, or related creative fields.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in video editing or motion graphics roles, preferably with digital-first content teams, studios, or social media agencies.

Technical Proficiency

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
• Familiarity with CapCut, Canva Video, or mobile editors is a plus.
• Basic color correction, audio leveling, and export optimization skills.
• Comfortable working with Tamil and English language content, especially for subtitle syncing.

Creative Skills

• Good sense of visual rhythm, timing, and story flow.
• Ability to create simple yet engaging animations and transitions.
• Eye for detail, layout symmetry, and campaign alignment.

Work Expectations

• Must be able to work long hours during peak campaign periods. (Flexible Shift Timings for Female Candidates)
• Should be deadline-driven, responsive, and capable of handling urgent edit assignments.
• Must maintain full confidentiality of the video materials and campaign files.
