Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mid to Senior Level - MEP Site Engineers to Head Level at Lifestyle Housing in Chennai.

Job Summary

MEP Engineer

Key Responsibilities For MEP - Head Level

• Design, develop, and review

  mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

  for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
• Prepare and evaluate

  MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities)

  .
• Coordinate with architects, civil/structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into building design.
• Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing.
• Ensure compliance with

  local codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations

  .
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and as-built drawings from contractors.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems on site.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during construction and post-occupancy phases.
• Provide

  value engineering

  recommendations to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Stay updated on new technologies, materials, and sustainable design practices.

Key Responsibilities for MEP Site Engineers

• Supervise and monitor the on-site installation of

  mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works

  .
• Ensure execution of works as per approved

  drawings, specifications, and standards

  .
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical and site issues.
• Conduct daily site inspections and prepare

  progress reports

  .
• Review and verify contractors’

  shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements

  .
• Ensure proper implementation of

  quality control, safety, and environmental policies

  .
• Monitor testing and commissioning activities for MEP systems.
• Verify quantities for materials used and support the project team in preparing BOQs and work progress claims.
• Identify design discrepancies or potential construction issues and propose effective solutions.
• Liaise with consultants and local authorities for inspections and approvals.

Qualifications

• On-site management and supervision skills for Head Level
• Strong communication skills for liaising with stakeholders for Head Level
• BE Civil or Diploma in MEP Civil Engineering
• Proven experience 7-8 years as an

  MEP Site Engineer

  in construction projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of

  HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and ELV systems

  .
• Ability to read and interpret

  MEP drawings and specifications

  .
• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools

  .
