As a PD Merchant/Jr. Merchant, your role will involve the merchandising and product development of woven and knits fabrics in the Retail industry. Here are your key responsibilities: - Manage the merchandising of woven and knits fabrics. - Develop high-fashion garments with a strong understanding of fabric and fashion trends. - Conduct costing, raw material sourcing, and flow monitoring for various products. - Coordinate the entire product development process from concept to delivery. In terms of communication and coordination, you will need to: - Maintain effective internal and external communication with all stakeholders. - Ensure smooth coordination with suppliers for material delivery dates and rate negotiations. - Obtain all necessary approvals from buyers and ensure timely execution of orders. Your role will also involve sampling and sourcing: - Monitor various sampling processes to ensure quality and adherence to buyer specifications. - Source materials and manage relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of samples and materials. Technical knowledge is crucial: - Possess strong knowledge of the technical aspects of fabrics, including different types of washes. - Ensure the technical feasibility of designs and adherence to quality standards. Order processing will be a key aspect: - Oversee order processing, ensuring all materials are sourced, and orders are executed according to buyer requirements. - Coordinate with suppliers and buyers to ensure all materials and approvals are in place for timely production. Additionally, you will be responsible for data management and reporting: - Maintain and update reports, charts, and data related to merchandising and production. - Utilize Excel and other systems to track orders, monitor progress, and report on key metrics. Qualifications required for this role include: - Minimum 3+ years of experience in the Garments industry, preferably in a Buying House or Exports House. - Strong background in woven and knits fabric merchandising. - Experience working with direct buyers. - Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with multiple systems for data management. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
