Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide socio-emotional counselling, career guidance and mentoring to a small group of fellows and maintain family engagement through regular check-ins through visits, calls online meetings
  • Facilitate high-quality, age-appropriate life skills sessions for fellows, focusing on communication skills, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, along with self-awareness and inclusivity to strengthen self-esteem, resilience, and overall confidence.
  • Conduct basic employability readiness sessions, including resume preparation, interview readiness, and workplace behaviour.
  • Support the Project Manager in reviewing and assessing the suitability of educational institutions attended by fellows, and if found unsatisfactory, help in search for good institutions and support for admissions to the same.
  • Conduct extra-curricular skills and talent competitions among the fellows
  • Assess track fellows progress related to attendance, academics, participation, and behaviour, share regular updates with the mentor coordinator to ensure each intervention delivers expected outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate monthly reports, case notes, and learning documentation
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage project activities in alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of all student information.

  • Basic understanding of education systems and career pathways in India
  • Comfortable in conducting off-line/online small group sessions as well as one-on-one counselling.
  • Proficiency in English, Bengali / Tamil as per location and working knowledge of Hindi
  • Maintaining training, progress reports, and documentation as per organizational requirements
  • Basic computer skills for report writing and documentation
  • Sensitivity towards child protection and ethical practices
  • Comfortable working independently at a single location
  • Strong commitment to youth development and education equity

Qualifications Experience

  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with adolescents or young adults in counselling, teaching, facilitation, or youth development is necessary
