As a Medical Representative (Associate) for a fast-growing pharmaceutical company based in Kolkata, your primary focus will be on engaging with healthcare professionals specializing in gastroenterology, surgery, gynecology, and general medicine. Your key responsibilities will include building and nurturing positive relationships with healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, and decision-makers in hospitals and clinics. You will serve as a dependable resource by offering current medical information and addressing any inquiries or concerns that customers may have. In addition, you will be tasked with promoting pharmaceutical products and medical devices to healthcare professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, and hospital staff. Your role will involve providing detailed information on product features, benefits, and usage to encourage the prescription and purchase of the products. To drive sales, you will need to effectively communicate product information, demonstrate value, and cater to customer needs in order to meet and exceed sales targets. Developing and implementing sales strategies to enhance sales volume and market penetration within your assigned territory will also be a crucial aspect of your role. Territory management will be a significant part of your job, requiring you to maintain a designated sales territory, establish regular visitation schedules with healthcare professionals, and keep a customer database. You will also be responsible for tracking sales activities, providing accurate sales forecasts, and generating reports. Staying informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in medical guidelines and regulations will be essential. Conducting market research to identify customer needs, market opportunities, and potential areas for product growth will help you stay ahead in the competitive pharmaceutical landscape. Continual learning and development are encouraged, and you will be expected to organize and participate in medical conferences, seminars, and product training sessions. Educating healthcare professionals about new products, therapeutic uses, clinical data, and relevant scientific information will be part of your ongoing training and education. Adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing pharmaceutical sales and marketing activities is a must. You will be required to ensure that all promotional activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and industry guidelines. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including marketing, medical affairs, and regulatory affairs, will be necessary to develop and execute promotional strategies, launch new products, and provide valuable feedback on market needs and trends. Maintaining accurate records of sales calls, customer interactions, expenses, and sample distribution is vital. Regularly preparing sales reports and offering feedback to management on market dynamics and customer responses will help drive strategic decision-making within the organization. Continuous enhancement of product knowledge, selling skills, and understanding of medical science through self-study, training programs, and participation in industry conferences or workshops is encouraged to support your professional development.
