Mechanical Design Engineer

Job summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Design Engineer with strong expertise in piping design, plant

layout, and 3D modeling for water and wastewater treatment projects. The ideal candidate will

be responsible for delivering accurate technical drawings, supporting project execution, and

ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires technical proficiency, team

collaboration, and innovative problem-solving.

Responsibilities & duties:

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in the water and waste management industry.

• Design and develop 2D/3D piping layouts, equipment layouts, P&ID, GAD, and isometric

drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D.

• Prepare and review BOQ, BOM, and detailed technical drawings for WTP, STP, ETP, CETP,

and RO plants.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project coordination and

execution.

• Provide site support during installation, maintenance, and commissioning.

• Ensure design compliance with IS & ASME codes and company quality standards.

• Lead design documentation, drawing reviews, and version control for accuracy and consistency.

• Mentor and guide junior engineers in CAD tools and project design processes.

Skills/attributes required:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, SketchUp, and other CAD tools.

• Strong knowledge of piping design, equipment layout, and 3D modeling (pump, tank,

vessel, blower).

• Expertise in P&ID, GAD, orthographic, and isometric drawings.

• Strong project coordination and team collaboration skills.

• Good communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

Qualifications/experience required:

• Bachelor’s degree in B.tech Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in piping design and CAD engineering.

• Hands-on experience in water and wastewater treatment projects preferred.

• Certifications in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or related CAD tools will be an added advantage.
