Materials Specialist

Role Overview: You will be joining Wing as a Materials Manager in the Direct Sourcing team based in India. Your role will involve overseeing the end-to-end materials management process, maintaining inventory accuracy, and optimizing material flow for the direct hardware used in Wing's delivery drones. You should be motivated to create robust and dynamic supply chains in a fast-paced environment to support future scalability and growth. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a comprehensive global materials management strategy in collaboration with strategic suppliers and contract manufacturers. - Manage relationships with material suppliers, oversee procurement, ensure timely delivery, and negotiate favorable terms. - Maintain accurate inventory levels across all locations, implement inventory control processes, and minimize waste and E&O. - Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Logistics teams on material specifications, forecasting, and supply chain planning. - Establish robust material tracking and management systems for visibility and accountability. - Improve material handling and storage processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. - Engage with cross-functional partners to develop innovative solutions for material sourcing, storage, and distribution. - Create detailed project plans and timelines to ensure timely material availability for operational needs and expansion projects. - Communicate material status updates to key stakeholders, proactively identify and resolve potential issues. - Assist in driving capacity planning and implementation at contract manufacturers and downstream suppliers. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related fields, with practical experience. - Experience in large-scale manufacturing or logistics-intensive industries is highly preferred. - Expertise in developing and implementing efficient materials management strategies and processes, including inventory optimization and supplier management. - Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and develop insights to improve material flow and reduce costs. - Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to challenges. - Strong verbal and written communication skills to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences. - Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships. - Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly growing organization, embracing change and learning quickly. - Experience in multinational environments and global supply chains is a significant plus. - Proficiency in utilizing ERP or MRP systems for inventory management and procurement.
